Welcome to the first ever CooperHypnosis blog entry! I am new to this venue...but will make every effort to learn.
I'd like to start a group for nurses doing hypnosis. I have written several pieces for the E-zine on the Banyan Center website. I think that nurses have a lot to offer the medical and dental community. Inform and educate needs to be our motto!
Nurses use waking hypnosis each and every day that they speak with patients and their families. Patients are focused on what is being done to them...for example taking a BP or listening to their heart and lungs. Just making the statements "You have a good BP reading (say the measurement), or saying "Your heartbeat is strong and regular. Your lungs sound clear." The patient has selective focused attention....hence waking hypnosis.
Using EFT can be a quick and easy tool for daily clinical practice. I will be presenting a 1 hour workshop titled EFT : A Valuable Tool for the Busy Medical & Dental Professional at this year NGH Convention.
7th Path Self-Hypnosis (R) is a mind-body-spirit self-hypnosis developed by Cal Banyan. This has been a remarkable method of healing for myself as well as individuals I've hypnotized. Recently, I developed a workshop titled "Self-Care for Nurses; 7th Path Self-Hypnosis(R) complete with 10 pending nursing contact hours. This year, the NGH has a Nursing tract where particpants will be able to get contact hours for specific presentations...FREE. No additional cost!
Contact me via this site or at marifran@CooperHypnosis.com if you're interested in a specialized group for nurses and the issues that we address daily.
Bye for now. Hope you all have a great week-end.
